Out in the Storm

We are out in the storm Papi and I
The rain is coming down in sheets
But I am dry and warm.
I am standing under my Papis protection
His wide brimmed hat and arms are sheltering me
He is getting wet but thats ok he is keeping me dry
We watch the way the wind bends the trees
We talk about the beauty of the lightning and thunder.
We are a long way from home but I am not scared
I am here with my Papi and he is protecting me.

Today I am passing through life’s storms
The winds of temptation and sin bend the world around me
I feel the wind and the slight touch of the rain
But I am being protected from the storm.
I am not alone my older brother, my Savior is here.
He takes the buffetings that are rightfully mine.
We watch the wind and enjoy the beauty of the lightning and thunder
I am not afraid. I am here with my Savior.
He protects me and guides me safely home.
